During his last two summers at Ohio Wesleyan Howard received grants to study in Europe with Nadia Boulanger and Max Rostal.
In 1970 he began his long tenure as a Professor in the Ohio University School of Music. Here he continued recital work as a soloist as well as a member of the Athenian Trio. Several summers were spent at Lakeside, Ohio as that Orchestra’s concert master and then later at Interlochen in Michigan where he taught and performed in chamber recitals.
After his retirement in 2001, Professor Beebe turned his creative energies into painting and poetry. He became actively involved as a volunteer with the Majestic Galleries in Nelsonville.
